Life Legacy
Randall Jackson McCullers, age 69, went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday morning, February 3, 2010. Randy was a kind and gentle man with a special place in his heart for everyone he met especially children.
Randy graduated from Robert E. Lee Institute with Class of 1959. He was a member of the National Guard Station in Thomaston for 6 years and was activated during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was employed for Atlantic Steel in Atlanta for 18 years where he worked as a fire brick mason. His Cherokee-Choctaw heritage and love for Indian artifacts led many friends to affectionately call him “chief” from which came the name of their flea market business “Chief’s Knives and a Little More.” Randy had a gift for words in writing poetry and in making friends far and wide.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ivy May Pfannkuche McCullers and Burl Jackson McCullers formerly of Thomaston. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, DeVane Hall McCullers; sister Shelby (Johnny) McCullers Sprinkle of Jacksonville, Fl; sister-in-law- Laraine (Mike) Hall Ayers of Newnan, Ga; niece Shannon Sprinkle of Jacksonville, Florida; nieve Holly (Alan) Jones of McKenzie of Newnan, Ga. Nephews Stephen (Amanda) Ayers of Fairmont, Ga. And Kevin (fifi) Ayers of Jackson, Ga; as well as beloved great-nieces and great nephews Arrie and Aydan McKenzie of Newnan, Ga, Addison Ayers of Fairmont, Ga; and Logan Ayers of Jackson, Ga.
