Biography

Mr. Jimmie Robert Gooden age 79 of Barnesville Ga, died December 12, 2011 at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Gooden was born on February 18, 1932 in Pike County Ga, to the late Truitt and Addie Mae Gooden. He was employed with J.C. Penny Distribution Center where he worked in the dry goods department for 25 years. Mr. Gooden served his country in the U.S. Navy for many years. He was a member of East Thomaton Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Gooden was also a member of the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his wife Mrs. Betty W. Gooden of Barnesville Ga, son Mr. Tony and Cindy Gooden of Sharpsburg Ga, step sons Mr. Allen Lyons, Mr. Bobby Lyons, Mr. David Milner, brother Mr. Marion and Edith Gooden of Meansville Ga, sisters Mrs. Betty Bradshaw of Griffin Ga, Mrs. Margie Perdue of Yatesville Ga, grandchildren Angie and Britt Moon, Cindy and James Gooden, Chasidy and Ben Brooks, Jennifer and Rusty, great grandchildren Alden and Nathan Moon, Sydney and Eli Brooks, and Addison.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday December 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday December 14, 2011 from 5-7 p.m.
