Biography

Mr. Benjamin Hilman Pitts Sr. age 76 of Thomaston Ga, died March 30, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Pitts was born on January 13, 1936 in Thomaston Ga, to the late William and Essie Mae Pitts. He worked as a Barber for 6 years at City & Silvertown Barber Shop. Mr. Pitts retired after 28 years of service with the Department of Transportation where he worked as an engineer. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church since 1966 where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Pitts served his country in the U.S. Navy for many years aboard the USS Calvert & US Franklin Roosevelt.

Survivors include his wife Mrs. Ioan A. Pitts of Thomaston Ga, daughters Mrs. Shirley S. and Marvin Eubanks of Thomaston Ga, Mrs. Debra Ann and Chris Legg of Thomaston Ga, Mrs. Shirl S. and Marty Blackston of Lagrange Ga, sons Mr. Rusty Singletary of Thomaston Ga, Mr. Benjamin Hilman and Debbie Pitts Jr. of Orange Park Fl. 10 Grandchildren. 11 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday April 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from Fellowship Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday April 2, 2012 from 5-7 p.m.
