Obituary

Adrian Lee Selph was born on February 24, 1977, at 9:27 pm, six minutes before her identical twin sister, Heather Marie, in Thomaston, GA, to Jeannie Mathews and Calvin Selph.  The girls were raised by two loving couples, their mother and stepfather, Jeannie and Tommy Self, and their father and stepmother, Calvin and Debby Selph.  They had a wonderful stepbrother Jonas and the best canine brother Bubba, as well as four families that loved them dearly.  Adrian lived most of her life in Thomaston but made a happy new home in Forsyth the last seven years with her beloved pride and joy daughter Natalie and their maternal aunt Laurie.

Adrian worked for many years in Upson Regional Hospital, Spalding Regional Hospital, and Monroe County Hospital.  She had a profound interest in archaeology and history and was an active member of the Ocmulgee Archaeological Society.  She loved traveling to new places, drawing, reading, watching TV shows and movies (and sharing her most favorites with others), organizing themed events, couponing, and spending time with family and a few close friends.  She worked hard, loved to wear cute colorful clothing, took happiness from buying thoughtful gifts for others, and enjoyed decorating her yard and home for all holidays and themes.

Adrian was in a terrible car wreck on May 5th and, after a brave battle, succumbed to her injuries two weeks later on May 19th at Atlanta Medical Center in Fulton County.

She was predeceased by her parents, Jeannie and Tommy Self; grandparents, Bertie and John Selph, John Franklin, Emmitt Mathews, Fred and Clinton Self, and Dar and Nita Sweetalla; great-grandparents Eddie and Alene Davis, and Jessie Mathews; aunts and uncles Velma, baby boy Mathews, Gail, Willie Lee, Glenda Sue, Gary, and Kim; her canine siblings Bubba and Olive; and her sister's babies Ava/Avery, River, and Harvard.

She leaves behind to grieve her death her parents, Calvin Selph and Debby (Steve Sweeney, Dan Lucas); siblings Heather (Joel) Brodnax and Jonas (Tiffany) Stephens; daughter Natalie Dawson (Charles Speir); nephews Justin and Reeve Brodnax (to whom she was beloved DotDot!), and Riggs Stephens; nieces Aliese Stubbs, Brittany O'Callaghan, and Isla Stephens; grandmother, Jean Baugh; aunts and uncles (Laurie, Lisa, David, Allen, Alvin, Kayrin, Rick, Pete, Carey, Lonny, Todd, Ed, JoAnn, Christina, John, Boyett, and Hubert), literally dozens of first, second, and third cousins who were incredibly important to her including but not limited to Amanda, Meredith, Hannah, Andrew, Gage, and Chris among numerous others; her best friend Cortney (Ed) Whitehouse; the Sweeney kids Tina, Jeramie, Paula, and Meghan; and her little dog Tippi.

A memorial service in her honor will be held Saturday, May 28th with visitation from 1-2 pm and service at 2 pm, at Coggins Funeral Home of Thomaston, GA, who is in charge of arrangements.  Pastor Rodney McCarty, will be officiating the service. Those in attendance are asked to wear bright colors in honor of her last "full theme ahead."  In lieu of flowers, please consider sending donations to your favorite charity or animal shelter in her honor, as nothing would have pleased her more than to know that her existence would inspire giving in others.  Save a Pet of Forsyth was one cause dear to her heart:
