Mr. Alton "Al" Edwin Brannon, age 86, of Meansville GA, died Sunday, May 4, 2025, at his residence.

Mr. Brannon was born on September 15, 1938, in Spalding County, GA, to the late Willie Hue Brannon and the late Helen Dorothy Waters.  He served his country in the US Marine Corp from 1956-1958 and retired from the Upson County Sheriffs Office as as Captain after 25 years.  He was a member of Thomaston First Methodist Church, Georgia Peace Officers Association and Thomaston Seratoma Club.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Brannon; and nephews, Billy Brannon and Jeff Weems.  Special thanks to friends at Peachtree Cafe, Joel Pasley and Piggie Park.

Survivors include his brother, Eddie (Rhonda) Brannon of Meansville; sisters, Shirley (Bob) Weems, Patricia Davis, Mary Alice (Ted) Garris; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Crystal Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
