Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Allen Kilgore, age 90, of Thomaston GA, died Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Riverside Health and Rehab.

Mrs. Kilgore was born on May 6, 1935, in Thomaston GA, to the late Grady Allen and the late Pauline Marshall Allen. She was formerly employed with Thomaston Mills as a switchboard operator, and later worked as the Activities Director for Clearview Nursing Home until her retirement. Mrs. Kilgore was a life long member of Hightower Memorial United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities. She taught Sunday School, she was a lay speaker and was the Griffin District President of UMW. Mrs. Kilgore was active in the Upson County Historical Society and wrote many columns in the local newspaper. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Daniel Eugene Kilgore Sr., and son in law Jerry Corley.

Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Rachel (Danny) Bentley of Thomaston GA and Mrs. Gayle Corley of Thomaston GA; son. Sheriff Dan (Renae) Kilgore of Thomaston GA; sister, Mrs. Sheryl (Tommy) Farr of Thomaston GA; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren. Special nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
