Mr. Bobby Lee Townsend, age 80, of Thomaston, died Saturday, April 6, 2024, at his residence in Thomaston.

Mr. Townsend was born January 3, 1944, in Upson County, to the late Robert Lee Townsend and Lillian Drake Townsend. He was a Roofer, worked for Martha Mills for 26years, Keadle Lumber Company for 10 years, and also a crossing guard for Upson County Schools . He was a member and head usher of Mt. View Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sisters, Margie Webb and Mary Darsey; and brothers, Harvey Townsend and Robert Erskin Townsend.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Townsend; daughters, Rhonda (Lonnie) Fortner, Christy Kennedy, Kayla (Mike) Harris, and Tina Higner; sisters Frances Reese, and Dorothy Brown; brother, Aldine (Ellen) Townsend; and special care giver, Lisa Bragg.

Funeral services for Mr. Townsend will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 3:00 pm, at Mt. View Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Mt View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 8, 2024, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm. at Mt View Baptist Church.
