Rev. Charles Edwin Bennett, age 75, of Thomaston GA, died Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Rev. Bennett was born on June 21, 1950, in Athens GA, to the late William Edwin Bennett and the late Rosa Fay Lewis Bennett. He owned and operated Bennett Landscaping for many years. Rev. Bennett founded the Gathering Church and led his congregation with compassion and love. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Kecia Bennett of Thomaston GA; daughters, Katie (Daniel) Moll of IL, Jessica (Eric) Thompson of Manchester GA, Blanca (Patrick) Wetzel of FL; sons, John Bennett of La, Jonathan (Kirsten) Cole of Hawaii; brothers, Anthony (Laverne) Bennett of Maysville GA, Timothy Bennett of Nicholson GA; sister, Melody Nichols (Elmer Shrimshire) of Thomaston GA; and 4 grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Gathering Church. Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
