Cindy Lynn Andrews Elmore, 63, of Thomaston, GA passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Eternal Hope Hospice in Griffin, GA. She is now healthy and happy with Jesus and all of her loved ones who have gone before. And we rejoice with her!

Cindy Lynn was born in Griffin on March 3, 1961, to Ann Mays Deason and the late James Thomas Andrews. She was the oldest of three children, as sister, Sherri Dee, and brother, John William, came along after her. She was a generous big sister who was always eager to help and take charge whenever she saw ways to share in their life's journey and be a blessing to them.

Cindy was wonderfully artistic and creative. Having been brought up in her mother's hair salons, it was only natural that she enrolled in Cosmetology courses at Griffin Tech. Having a true aptitude, she was immediately far advanced of the other students and after just three months, her teacher "fudged" her theory and practical hours before sending her to test at state board. (It took the rest of us a year or two to get there!)

For many years, Cindy was a successful business owner of Savvy Salon and Spa in Kennesaw, GA. Eventually, she came to miss small town living and relocated to Thomaston where, again, her business thrived. Cindy loved to travel and appreciated all that life had to offer. Over the years she snow skied, went Scuba diving, kept horses, raised chickens and always had quite the menagerie of dogs and cats. She was a fabulous cook and loved to entertain. She enjoyed concerts and festivals, going to the beach, trips to the mountains, GA Bulldawg football and spending time with friends and family.

We couldn't believe it when she was diagnosed so young with a rare peritoneal cancer in June of 2022 and given only a two-to-four-month prognosis. She was determined to fight, starting chemo right away, while deepening her faith and prayer life. Her tumors began shrinking and a year later a cytoreduction surgery was scheduled. Unfortunately, there was still too much cancer, but she never slowed down and continued fighting a long, hard, valiant battle before it finally exhausted her after 28 months.

Survivors include her mother, Ann Mays Deason; sister, Sherri Dee Andrews; and brother, John William Tyson. She is also survived by niece, Sierra Ann Tyson (Jake Allison); great nephews, Camden Allison and Jeeter Allison; cousins, Danielle Graham Jordan, Bobby Graham (Kristin), Ronnie Andrews (Robert), Teresa Andrews Steward, Brian Martin and Missy Martin. There are many more extended family members and Cindy was also beloved by her many friends, clients, and her church family - All of whom are left behind to mourn our loss until we can be with her again.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at The Gathering Church, 456 Hannahs Mill Road, Thomaston. At 2:00 pm a Celebration of Life Service will be held in the sanctuary of The Gathering Church, officiated by Pastor Charles Bennett. A Graveside Service will take place at Griffin Family Cemetery, 186 Andrews Road, Griffin.
