Mr. Walter Don Ellerbee, age 85, of Thomaston GA, died Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Riverside Health and Rehab.

Mr. Ellerbee was born on December 27, 1937, in Thomaston, to the late Luther Dillard Ellerbee and the late Clara Mildred Legg Ellerbee.  He worked as a horticulturist at Georgia Tech and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine Franklin Ellerbee who died in 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Raines Ellerbee of Thomaston; sons, Barry (Yodie) Ellerbee of Thomaston and Johnny (Karen) Dawson of Thomaston; daughters, Connie (Marc) Baggett of Thomaston and Michelle Cronin of Unadilla; brothers, Ray (Toni) Ellerbee of Austin, TX, and Sammy J. (Bonnie) Ellerbee of Key West, FL; sister, Sue Young of Thomaston; grandsons, Will (Kassidy) Ellerbee, and Wes Ellerbee; six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and expecting a great-grandson, Roman William Ellerbee; and many great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. from Mountain View Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Crystal Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
