Elaine Jessie Nowakowski (Helgemo) entered heaven's rest April 13, 2023. Born to Robert and Jessie Helgemo October 16, 1944 in Orlando, Florida and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She lived in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and settled in Thomaston, Georgia. Elaine is predeceased by her parents and stepfather Art Danow, siblings Dolores Helgemo, Jeffrey Helgemo, and Larry Danow. She is survived by siblings Jean Larson, Timothy Helgemo (Claudia) and Delores (Dee) Hill (Duane) and her children Scott Nowakowski, Tamara (Tammy) McLaughlin (Tim) and Todd Nowakowski (Lisa). She leaves behind grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends.

Elaine Enjoyed bringing dying plants back to life, talk radio, and reading and studying her Bible. She lived one day at a time and praying to her God.

We wish to thank her precious neighbor Susan Curtis for her daily care of Elaine. We also thank Thomaston Hospice for protecting her dignity through their assistance and support.
