Mrs. Gayle Hand, 83 of Thomaston went home to be with her true love and forever dancing partner on March 11, 2026.  Mrs. Hand was born May 5, 1942, in Tucson, Arizona to the late Merle Edward and Gladys Marie McDonald.   Mrs. Hand was a member of the Cherokee Rose quilt guild for many years, she was a member of the Church of Christ here in Thomaston, Georgia.  She was preceded in death by her husband David Hand, grandsons Kyle O'Kelley and Nicholas Morris, and parents.

Survivors include her daughters, Martha (John) O 'Kelley of Monticello, Judith (David) King of Marietta, Gloria Morris of Panama City, Florida, Amanda Hand of Thomaston, son Christopher (Miranda) Hand of Hubert, North Carolina, sister. Sandee McDonald, brother Johnny McDonald, twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. from Andersonville National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
