Mrs. Evelyn Geneva Hatchett Helms age 91 of Thomaston Ga, passed away Sunday April 3, 2022, at Riverside Health and Rehab.

Mrs. Helms was born on July 10, 1930, in Pike County, to the late Thomas Calvin Hatchett, and the late Ida Belle Morris.  She worked at William Carter Company in the cutting room and was a member of Clark's Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lathel Helms Jr., brothers, Kenneth Hatchett, Mallory Hatchett, Basil Hatchett, and sisters, Jeanette Pitts, Louise Langford.

Survivors include her daughter, Deborah (Ricky) Chambley of Hamilton, sister-in-law, Ruth Hatchett of Thomaston, grandchildren, Richard Chambley, Cory Brown, great-grandchildren, Hunter brown, and Lydia Brown.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. from Southview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
