Mrs. Thelma Helen Tomlin Salter age 82 of Thomaston Ga, died Monday October 14, 2024, at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Salter was born on August 11, 1942, in Ariton, Alabama, to the late James Early Tomlin and the late Nettie Thelma Edmonds Tomlin.  She was a homemaker and played the piano for the First Freewill Baptist Church and Coggins Funeral Home for many years.  She was a charter member of the First Freewill Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Grant Salter, brother, Maxwell Scott, sisters, Ruby Scott Weems, Nell Scott Keele, Mary Smalling, Sarah Nell Luke, Merle Gammon, Gladys Carr, and Jean Rogers.

Survivors include her sons, Allen (Lisa) Salter of Thomaston, Tim (Jessica) Salter of Thomaston, grandchildren, Brandon (Sharra), Patrick, Daniel, Sarah, and great-grandchildren, Emerie and Adelynn.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Upson Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
