Mr. James Edward Ellerbee, age 80, of Thomaston, died Monday December 11, 2023, at his residence.

Mr. Ellerbee was born on June 28, 1943, in Thomaston, Georgia, to the late James Robert Ellerbee and the late Lula Bell Clark.  He worked for Keadle Lumber Company and attended Calvary Lighthouse Church.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Wheeless Ellerbee, and several grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Stitcher of Thomaston, Lisa (Jay) Howard of Washington State, stepdaughter, Francine (Charles) Guined of LaGrange, sisters, Virginia (Wayne Perkins) Anthony of Molena, Rhunette (Larry) Cogburn of Molena, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, girlfriend, Kathy Thomas, and her daughter, Tammy Thomas, both of Thomaston.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Crystal Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
