Mr. James "Cooter" Elton Harold Emerson Sr. age 61 of Thomaston Ga., died Thursday January 13, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Emerson was born in Upson County, on February 21, 1960, to the late Roy Emerson and the late Willie Mae Stover Emerson.  He worked at Woodland Industries for 30 years as a Warehouse Supervisor, and attended Manchester First Assembly of God.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Earline Hamby, Joann Eason, Mildred Baughcum and Shirley Waters.

Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Johnson Emerson of Thomaston, daughters, Chasity (Sherman) Baker of Manchester, Jamie Turner of Thomaston, son, CJ (Allie) Emerson of Thomaston, grandchildren, Austin (Jade Lee) Baker, Hannah Baker, Madison Hughes, Ronnie Hughes, and Bentley Emerson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Crystal Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
