Mr. Jarrell David Yates, age 85 of Thomaston, died Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Brightmoor Hospice in Macon.

Mr. Yates was born on October 2, 1940, in Lagrange, Georgia to the late, Vernon David Yates, and the late Ruth Norris Yates.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy.  He owned and operated a frame shop with his wife and worked for GA DOT in the right of way department.  Mr. Yates loved wood working, gardening, ships and being on the water.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Partain Yates.

Survivors include his daughters, Jerri (Allen) Newman of Barnesville, Jenny (Mark) Fellows of Locust grove, Joni Becerra of Thomaston, sisters, Miriam (Henry) Benson of Warner Robins, Omie Pitts, of Thomaston, grandchildren, Katie (Michael) Evans of Dothan, Alabama, Andy Newman of Griffin, Will Newman of Barnesville, Jake Becerra of Sandy Springs, and Aubrey (Gil) O'Kelley of McDonough.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
