Obituary

Jasmine Aglaia Black, age 48 of Locust Grove, died Saturday, June 21, 2025, in Thomaston, Georgia.

Jasmine was born on June 7, 1977, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Albert and Carol Agnew Black.  She worked as a manager for Caterpillar Logistics for 14 years and was a devoted member of the Bahá'í Faith.  She was an avid skydiver.

Survivors include her sons, Raven (Alli) Hedden, Caspian Hedden, stepdaughters, Daisy and Ashley Duran, parents, Albert and Carol Black, brothers, Jamal (Shelly) Black, Levin (Theresa) Black, sister, Leah (Jean) Ruto, 6 nieces and nephews (Zakiah, Naylah, Mateo, Sierra, Raina, Avalon) and her dogs, Bobber and Hazel.

The family found in a notebook a list Jasmine made of 10 things she loved, Haifa, Israel (The Baha'i Holy Land), Bahais / God / family, skydiving, art, learning, dogs, cats, warmth, ocean, tropics, being productive / useful, analyzing / finding meaning, and reading.

Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin.  The family will receive friends on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
