Mrs. Mary "Joanne" Baskin age 84, of Thomaston died Monday, August 7, 2023, at her residence.

Mrs. Baskin was born on August 16, 1938, in Thomaston, to the late Otis T. Gordy and the late Della Bishop Gordy.  She worked at Walmart for 18 years and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Charles Gordy and his wife Johnnie, and sister, Elizabeth Gordy.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Thomas Baskin of Thomaston, daughter, Cheryl Nichols of Thomaston, grandchild, Chrissy Stahl of Florida, two great-grandchildren and cousin Renee Gordy Moot of Dalton.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. from Mountain View Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends on Saturday August 12, 2023, from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church.
