Obituary

Jodi Murphy, 57, of The Rock, Georgia passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026.

Jodi was born on May 15, 1968, in Jonesboro, Georgia to Joel and Barbara Rountree. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, nurse, and friend whose kindness and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Jodi dedicated 26 years of service to Georgia Power, where she was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature. Her passion for helping others extended far beyond her career, as she continually gave her time, love, and support to those around her.

She found joy in exploring, crafting, and diving, but her greatest happiness was always her family. Her granddaughters, Madelyn and Maislyn Fryer, along with her grandson on the way, Sylas McCray, were the center of her world and brought her endless pride and love.  Jodi shared 13 loving years of marriage with her husband, Brian Murphy, a partnership built on love, support, and devotion.  Jodi's faith was a guiding light in her life. She deeply believed in Jesus and often shared that He was the author of her life, a truth she lived out each day with grace and strength.  She is preceded in death by her father, Joel Rountree.

She is survived by her mother, Barbara Rountree, loving husband, Brian Murphy; her children, Rachel Fryer and TJ McCray (Sigrid McCray); her granddaughters, Madelyn and Maislyn Fryer; her grandson on the way, Sylas McCray; her sister, Lisa Nauck; and her nieces, Ashley, Lauren, and Meghan Nauck.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday April 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from Northridge Church.

Jodi will be deeply missed, but the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
