Dr.  John Wesley Hunt Jr., age 66 of Thomaston, died Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Hunt was born on October 18, 1956, in Worsburg, Germany to the late John Wesley Hunt Sr. and the late Clara Jeanette Kilby Hunt.  He worked as a pastor at Elkins Creek Baptist Chruch.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Shelia Stephens Hunt of Thomaston, daughter, Aubrey (Anthony) Hunnicutt, Emily Hunt both of Thomaston, sons John Wesley (Ashlee) Hunt III of Thomaston, Donald (Megan) Hunt of Molena, brother, Mark Hunt of Thomaston, sister, Karen Herron of Thomaston, grandchildren, Adrianna Hunnicutt, A.J. Hunnicutt, Nehemiah Weston, Kya Hunt, Gabbie Weston, Addi Hunt, Ziek Hunt, Jamie Hunt, John Wesley Hunt IV, Clara Hunt, and Koda Hunt.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. from Mountain View Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Crystal Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday, October 24, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
