Mr. John "Steve" Steven Weems, age 72 of Thomaston, died Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Upson Regional Hospital.

Mr. Weems was born on May 11, 1950, in Thomaston, to the late Allen "Jack" Franklin Weems Jr., and the late Ruby Deal Scott Weems.  He worked as an accountant at Westek Mill and was a member of Christ Chapel.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Berryhill Weems of Thomaston, sons, Jason (Laura) Weems of Thomaston, Josh (Kristin) Weems of Columbus, sister, Patricia (Alvin) Coe of Woodbury, grandchildren, Ava Weems, Liam Weems, and Miller Weems.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 29, 2023, from 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
