Mr. John Wesley Walker, age 74, of Thomaston, died Sunday, January 2, 2022, at his residence in Thomaston.

Mr. Walker was born May 2, 1947, in Woodbury GA to the late Carl Webster Walker and Amy Louise McGraw Walker. He retired from Meed in Greenville with 30 plus years, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Woodbury.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ricky Walker and Lamar Walker. Survivors are his wife, Sherry Mathis Walker; daughter, Leann (Michael) Ham of Savannah GA; son, Blake (Heather Gaultney) Walker of Thomaston; sisters, Jackie Story of Woodland and Patricia (Keith) Paige of Thomaston; brothers, Felton (Marie) Walker of Griffin and Preston Walker of Woodbury; and grandchildren, Jacob Adams and Madison Walker.

Funeral services for Mr. Walker will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Friendship Baptist Church in Woodbury, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM at Coggins Funeral Home.
