Mrs. Joyce Pledger Ames, age 93, of Thomaston, died Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Providence Nursing Home.

Mrs. Ames was born on November 7, 1929, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to the late Millard Pledger and the late Eula Wright Pledger.  She retired as a telephone operator at Grady and Southern Bell Telephone Company, and was a member of First Weslyn Church in Griffin, GA.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ames.

Survivors include her daughters, Diane (Glenn) Googe of Thomaston, Vickie Courtney of Thomaston, and grandchild, Adam Dickerson.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. from Jeff Davis Baptist Church.
