Mrs. June Birdsong Smith, age 81, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, September 9, 2021 at Upson Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Smith was born on March 4, 1940 in Thomaston, to the late Marvin Birdsong and the late Sara Foy Birdsong.  She retired from Upson County Probate Court and was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Smith, and brother, Jimmy Birdsong.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna (Mike) Hood of Thomaston, sisters-in-law, Brenda Birdsong of Thomaston, Katherine Buchanan, grandchildren, Joshua (Terilyn) Culverhouse, James (Chelsea) Hood, Travis (Lindsay) Hood, great-grandchildren, Charlie Culverhouse, Olivia Hood, and Evelynn Hood.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 11, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday September 10, 2021 from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
