Obituary

Mrs. Margaret Gladys Caldwell Thurman age 89 died Tuesday January 16, 2024 at Piedmont Walton Hospital.

Mrs. Thurman was born on January 18, 1934, in Rolling Fork, Mississippi, to the late Frank Caldwell and the late Eula Frances Rowland Caldwell.  She was a housewife.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lamar Thurman Sr., her companion, Edward Eugene Ruffin, grandchild, Sonia Saulters Heath, children, Linda G. Threet Metcalf, Daniel Threet, and Margaret Gail Marshall.

Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Marshall (Mark) Davis, Jennifer C. (Dave) Marshall Seres, sons, Larry (Donna) Threet. Clifford E. Marshall Jr., John M. Marshall, James W. Marshall, Paul L. Thurman Jr., grandchildren, Jerry Saulters, James Threet, Lori Threet, Danielle Threet, Nathan Threet, Brandon Marshall Johnson, Kristi Marshall Coker, Lance Marshall Coker, Angel Marshall, Georgia Marshall, Gabby Owens, T.J. Washburn, Page Washburn Flagg, Amberley Davis, Carolyn Davis, Breanna Mullins, Jake Seres, Tanner Thurman, Brianna Thurman, Mackenzie Thurman, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Crystal Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Coggins Funeral Home Memorial Fund for Mrs. Thurman.
