Mrs. Margie McWhorter Evans, age 86, of Thomaston, Georgia, died Sunday July 28, 2024, at Brightmoor Hospice.

Mrs. Evans was born on April 23, 1938, in Dooly County, Georgia, to the late Willie Joe McWhorter, and the late Eunice Adams McWhorter.  She worked as a secretary for a CPA Firm in Americus, Georgia, and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David Alfred Evans.

Survivors include her sons, Charles (Jennifer) Lamb of Thomaston, Clark (Sharon) Lamb of Senoia, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will be held on Thursday August 1, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia South Carolina.
