Mrs. Margie Louise Watson Brooks, age 92, of Atlanta, GA formerly of Thomaston died Sunday, July 16, 2023, at her residence.

Mrs. Brooks was born October 2, 1930, in Thomaston, to the late Durwood and Nellie Watson.  She was a member of Doraville First Baptist Church, where she was the church secretary for 30 plus years.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter Watson and Hubert Watson; sisters, Claudia Adair, Clara McRae and Velma Watson; and nephew, Brandon Weaver.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Mark Brooks, who lovingly cared for her during the final years of her life; Mike (Lisa) Brooks of Atlanta; grandchildren, Shane and Amanda Brooks of Atlanta; brother, James Watson of Thomaston; many nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. from Southview Cemetery.
