Mrs. Mary Faye Gordy, age 88, of Thomaston, died Sunday November 17, 2024, at Eternal Hope Hospice in Griffin GA.

Mrs. Gordy was born on August 20, 1936, in Thomaston, Georgia to the late Leonard Hale, and the late Rozelle Burkett Hale.  She worked in the Thomaston Mills as a weaver and was of the Baptist Faith.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Joe" Watts Gordy, and grandchild, April Dawn Sewell.

Survivors include her daughters, Joanne Gordy Fennell of Thomaston, Sheila Gordy (Tom) Pollard of Thomaston, sisters, Lavelle (Edward) Pitts of Thomaston, Brenda Townsend of Thomaston, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Valley Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
