Mrs. Mattie Collins Scarbary, age 86, of Fitzgerald GA, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021, at her residence in Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Scarbary was born on August 17, 1935, in Dooley County GA, to the late Ruben Lee Collins and the late Ottie Grace Hobbs Cumbess. She worked as a bus driver for Meriwether County Schools for many years. Mrs. Scarbary was a member of Alvaton Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Frank Scarbary Sr., son Arthur Frank Scarbary Jr., sister Sheila Moncrief Green.

Survivors include her daughter Teresa (Stanley) Truett of Williamson Ga., son Charles (Gina) Scarbary of Fitzgerald Ga., brothers Lee (Jane) Collins of Alvaton Ga., Ruben Leon Collins of Dooley County Ga., Royce Collins of Dooley County Ga., Danny Collins of Dooley County Ga., grandchildren Patricia (Willie) Smith, Stanley (Kelly) Truett, April Truett, Wesley (Amanda) Scarbary, Heather Scarbary, Kayla Scarbary, Michelle (Joshua) Laster, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday September 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Alvaton Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Thursday September 16, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
