Mr. Ricky James Gilbert, 70, of Molena, GA died July 16, 2023, at the Dublin VA Hospital in Dublin, G A.

Mr. Gilbert was born on May 17, 1953, in Thomaston to the late James Jay Gilbert and the late Innell Melton Gilbert. After graduating from high school, he worked for B.F. Goodrich.  He retired from the U.S. Army with 28 years of service. After retirement from the Army, he worked in the family business, Serendipity in Griffin. Mr. Gilbert was also a member of Molena Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Randy, Wade, and Harrington Gilbert, and a sister, Bicky Reedy.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Wise Gilbert of Molena, daughters, Cresta (Shawn) Barber of Williamson, and Claire (Jonathan) Helms of Molena, brothers, Jimmy Gilbert of Concord and Robbie Gilbert of Griffin, sister Nyoka Gilbert Rowe of Acworth, grandchildren, Matthew Davis, John Austin Barber, Gage Helms, Myles Helms, and Jake Helms.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Molena City Cemetery with full military honors.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
