Robert Lane
Parker
Dec 13, 1974 — Apr 5, 2025
Robert Lane Parker, affectionately known as Bart, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones on April 5, 2025, at the age of 50.Born on December 13, 1974, in Thomaston, Georgia.
Bart was a man who deeply loved Jesus, his family, and had a special way of showing that love through laughter and good-natured teasing. If Bart picked on you, you knew you held a special place in his heart. Bart's childhood was filled with fond memories of life on Cobbtown Road, growing up alongside his beloved sister, Cindy. In 1999, Bart was saved and baptized, a turning point in his life that defined his deep and abiding faith. Another life-changing moment came in 2014 when he became a father to Ansley, the absolute apple of his eye. A proud and devoted family man, Bart found joy in the simple things—spending time with his church family, soaking in gospel music, and keeping up with everyone's lives on Facebook. His humor, kindness, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Bart is preceded in death by his father, Lane Parker; stepfather, J.C. Knight; sister, Cindy Garner; grandparents, Joe and Clara "Tiny" Wilson and Jesse and Alline Parker; and his uncle, "Lil Joe" Wilson.
He is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Beth Parker; his cherished daughter, Ansley Parker; his mother, Joanne Knight; his sisters, Cheyenne Knight and Cora Blount; Aunt & Uncle Larry and Ann Dawson niece, Candace "C.J." Blunt; great-niece, Harleigh Blunt; and a host of cousins, dear friends, and church family who will miss him deeply.
A celebration of Bart's life will be held at Coggins Funeral Home in Thomaston, Georgia, on Thursday, April 10th. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Eddie Grier. Bart will be laid to rest at Crystal Hill Cemetery in Thomaston.
Pallbearers will be Joe "Sam"Wilson, Aaron Wilson, CJ Blount, Jeremy Lloyd, Josh Lloyd, Geno Latano, Todd Brakefield, and Alex Shores.
Bart's legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
