SFC (Ret) Robert Walter Peters, age 76, formerly of Thomaston, died Sunday, August 25, 2024, in Pell City AL.

SFC (Ret) Peters was born on October 10, 1947, in Thomaston, GA, to the late Ray Thomas Peters, and the late Lillie Bennett Peters.  He served his country in the US Army National Guard and retired after many years.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Ann Peters; brother, Ronald Peters; and sister, Patsy Helms.

Survivors include his daughter, Buffy (Donald) Bland of Trussville, AL; sister, Diane Armstead of Williamson; brother, Wendell (Linda) Peters of Williamson; grandchildren, Audrey (Blake) Burleson, Olivia (Connor) Mendheim; and great-grandchild, Kaison Burleson.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. from Upson Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
