Mr. Sammie "Sam" Ray Clay, age 73, of Thomaston, died Friday, October 4, 2024, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, GA.

Mr. Clay was born on February 16, 1951, in Meriwether County, GA. to the late Marvin and Mary Clay.  He was self-employed as a carpenter.  In addition to his parents his is preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Tommy, Jim, Wilbur, and John Clay, and sisters, Ruth Bowers, and Shirley Stoner.

Survivors include his daughters, Shannon (Calvin) Pate of Winston, GA., Jessica (Doug) Lane of Thomaston, seven grandkids, and four great-grandkids, brother Rick Clay of Thomaston, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
