Mr. Sammy Lewis Cates age 69 of Thomaston Ga, died February 2, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Cates was born on January 8, 1943 in Lawrenceville Ga, to the late Huben and Ruth Cates. He worked as a sheet metal fabricator for many years. Mr. Cates was a member of Silvertown Baptist Church, American Legion and a life member of the VFW and NRA. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Patsy Cates of Thomaston Ga, daughters Mrs. Tammy and Ronnie Barrow of Thomaston Ga, Mrs. Beverly Cates of Conyers Ga, Mrs. Susan Cates of Athens Ga, son Mr. Joe and Nancy Thomas of Destin Fl, brothers Mr. Jerry and Sharon Cates of Conyers Ga, Mr. Jim and Sandra Cates of Grayson Ga, Mr. Don Cates of Jacksonville Fl, sisters Mrs. Linda Johns of Baltimore MD, Mrs. Diane Clay of Al, grand daughter Miss. Elise Barrow of Thomaston Ga.
