Ms. Sandra Elaine Smith age 65, of Thomaston, died Friday, October 22, 2021, at her residence.

Ms. Smith was born on April 2, 1956, to the late Billie Franklin Smith, and the late Vivian Langly Smith.  Sandra grew up in Thomaston, GA. and worked at the Martha Mills, then later went on to help her "Pop" roofing houses.  Sandra and "Pop" moved to Savannah, where she learned to drive all kinds of trucks and heavy equipment.  She loved her work and enjoyed so many wonderful friends, who became her extended family.  Sandra eventually had back surgery and had to retire on disability from Clifton's Construction.  The loss of Sandra's "Pop" started the longing to be with her family, so Sandra moved back to Thomaston.  As family dwindled, Sandra found a new passion helping others.  She was a people person and never met a stranger, they were new friends.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Faye Smith Barfield and brother, Wayne Smith.  Sandra is survived by her sister-in-law, Kathy Smith of Thomaston, niece, Sonya Smith (John) Weeks, nephews, Jerry Crews, Jimmy (Laura) Watson, Jeff Smith, great nieces, Kaylee Smith, Hannah Watson, Tara Crews, Ellie Watson, and great nephews, Austin Weeks, Hunter Weeks and Luke Crews.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 1:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. at Coggins Funeral Home.
