Mr. Sheridan Daniel Mathis Sr., age 79, of Thomaston, died Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Harborview Health Center in Thomaston.

Mr. Mathis was born on March 21, 1945, in Thomaston, Georgia to the late B.M. Mathis and the late Lois Teal Gatlin.  He served his country in the US Navy and worked in the bleachery at the Thomaston Mills.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann White Mathis, sons, Allen Mathis, Sheridan "Daniel" Mathis Jr., and brother, Jay Mathis.

Survivors include his daughters, Angela Mathis, Heather Mathis, Hayley (Miguel) Gonzalez, sons, Jason (Hollie) Mathis, Frank (Sabrena) Reid Jr., sister, Loraine (Charles) Greathouse, eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from Crystal Hill Cemetery.
