Reverend Song Kil Chang, 69, of Thomaston, GA, went home to be with the Lord on March 28, 2025. He was born on September 26, 1955, in Seoul, South Korea, and immigrated to the United States in 1980 in pursuit of new opportunities and a life dedicated to faith and service.

Song earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from George Mason University, but his heart was always drawn to ministry. He followed that calling by obtaining a Master of Divinity from Capital Seminary and was later ordained as a reverend. With unwavering faith and a deep love for people, he founded Goodfield Korean Alliance Church, where he shepherded countless individuals with compassion, wisdom, and an unshakable devotion to God.

Beyond his ministry, Song found joy in the simple yet profound moments of life— as a middle school teacher, a loving husband and father to his beloved wife and two sons, worshiping through guitar and piano, and seeking deep, intimate communion with the Lord. He had a heart for evangelism and a special tenderness for the broken and weary, always ready to offer love, guidance, and everything else he had to offer—even when he didn't have much. His selflessness and generosity were a testament to his faith and the love of Christ that shone through him.

Song's legacy of unwavering faith, sacrificial love, and tireless service will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the seeds of faith he planted.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Sue Young Kim of Thomaston and two sons, Jonathan and Joshua Chang of Maryland.

A viewing will be held at Hope of the Generations Church on March 31st at 5 pm followed by the memorial service at 6 pm to honor and celebrate his life.
