Mrs. Susan Johnson Whitmire, age 83, of Thomaston, died, Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Sunny Grove Assisted Living Center in Barnesville Ga.

Mrs. Whitmire was born on March 23, 1938 in Laurens County Ga., to the late Clint Johnson and the late Lougenia Senn Johnson. She owned and operated the Tasty Freez and also Whitmire's Restaurant. Mrs. Whitmire was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Edward Asbury Whitmire.

Survivors include her sons Alan (Dinah) Whitmire of Thomaston Ga., Brad (Laurie Ann) Whitmire of Thomaston Ga., grandchildren Daniel (Jennifer) Whitmire, Paul Edward Whitmire, Nickolaus Bradley Whitmire, Rachel Nicole Whitmire (Hunter) Clark, great grandchild Lucy Marie Whitmire.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday November 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Sunday November 14, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
